A TEENAGER who fought with a man while wielding a hammer has been jailed for three months.
Jobless Daniel Dawson, of Cambridge Road, appeared at Lewes Crown Court this week where he pleaded guilty to affray and having an offensive weapon.
The court heard how the 19-year-old had attacked a 32-year-old during a violent row back on September 21.
Dawson himself was injured during the fight and needed treatment at The Conquest Hospital.
In fact, Dawson was arrested on his release from hosital - where he had been treated for a number of cuts.
The victim was not seriously hurt and declined treatment from paradmedics who attended the Cambridge Road scene.
Dawson was sentenced to three months in a young offenders institute.
Another man involved in the same incident, unemployed Ben Smith, 18, of Earl Street, also pleaded guilty to a charge of affray at court in November.
He is due to return to Lewes Crown Court on January 14 to be sentenced.
