Emergency services were called after a man collapsed in St Leonards.

Police officers were spotted carrying what appeared to be bags of evidence in St Leonards yesterday (Monday, August 10).

A reader was walking up London Road when she took this picture of policemen outside London Road Laundrette at 5.45pm.

It is believed paramedics were also called with residents at the scene saying an assault had taken place.

There was also an ambulance and a police helicopter and London Road was closed at Norman Road.

The Observer has requested more information on the suspected attack from Sussex Police and is awaiting a response.
