A MOTHER was left a nervous wreck after being bombarded with obscene texts from an unknown caller who said he wanted to have sex with her 12-year-old daughter.
David Fitch, 34, of Mildenhall Drive, St Leonards, appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court last week.
He had initially denied two charges of sending obscene messages but changed his plea to guilty.
Fitch sent dozens of offensive texts to two different women on August 15 last year, the court heard from prosecutor Peter Bolwell.
He was caught after police traced the calls and seized his mobile phone.
Mr Bolwell said: “These messages were really unpleasant. He told police that he had drunk a couple of bottles of wine on the afternoon he sent them.”
Magistrates heard he sent texts anonymously to a former partner he had a daughter with but had not seen for years.
“He bumped into her in town and there was contact for a while,” said Mr Bolwell
“On that afternoon in August she started getting texts, which came thick and fast. She was disturbed and called back to see who it was.
“She was with her family and put the phone in speaker mode.
“What she heard was a tirade of sexual and obscene comments She was terrified and still had no idea at that stage who the caller was.
“He also sent half a dozen obscene messages to a former work colleague and friend asking her what kind of knickers she was wearing.
“She was shocked and assumed it was a random pervert.
“Then he said he wanted to see her 12-year-old daughter naked and have sex with the daughter while she watched.
“She was a nervous wreck and scared to go to work saying: ‘He knows where my children live’.
“The Crown is asking for a restraining order.”
Magistrates adjourned sentencing for full reports and warned they were keeping all options open, including sending Fitch to prison.
He was released on bail until May 19 on the condition that he does not contact either of the women.
