Robbers threatened man with hyperdermic needle

A MAN was robbed after being threatened by three men with a hypodermic needle on Saturday night (December 17).

The incident happened in Stonehouse Drive, St Leonards at around 11.30pm, when the victim was approached by a man asking for a cigarette.

As he walked away a second man asked for the time before taking a needle out of his pocket and holding it against the victim’s cheek. A gold chain and cash were taken during the robbery.

The first suspect is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, slim, aged 20 to 30, scruffy, wearing a hooded top and black duffle coat.

The second suspect is described as white, 6ft 1ins, in his early 30s, wearing a black padded jacket and a grey hooded top.

The third suspect is described as white, 6ft tall, slim, and wearing dark clothes.

Detective Sergeant Julie Gable said: “This has been frightening for the victim and we are offering our support. If anyone was in the area around the time of the offence and saw any suspicious behaviour they should contact police immediately.”
