Police investigating reported break-in at football club

Sussex Police are investigating a reported break-in at the ground of Hastings United Football Club.

Police were called at around 8am on Sunday morning (May 21) to reports that The Pilot Field in Elphinstone Road had been broken into.

A police spokesman said: “The investigation into this incident is ongoing and it is not yet known what damage was caused and if anything was taken.

“Anyone who may have seen something or has information should call police on 101 quoting serial 330 of 21/05.”

A Hastings United spokesman estimated spirits worth several hundred pounds were stolen from the bar. The club said a door was completely smashed during the incident and an alarm was pulled off the wall.
