Pensioner arrested after man stabbed in Hastings retirement flats

An 85-year-old pensioner was arrested at retirement flats in Hastings after a resident was stabbed.

Emergency services were called to the flats on Torfield Close at 8.05am after a 61-year-old man living there received a stab wound to his lower body on Friday (October 14).

He was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he was treated for the injury and discharged on Sunday.

The 85-year old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and was bailed until January 11.

The two men are known to each other, police said.
