A CAR was vandalised while parked in a town centre car park.

The incident took place between 9am on Friday, December 14 and 1.30pm on Saturday, December 15, at a car park in Cornwallis Street.

The owner returned to the blue Fiat Punto to discover the boot panel appeared to have been kicked in and multiple scratches made to the paintwork and bumper.

Police have received no reports of other vehicles being damaged in this way.

PCSO Lucy Paffett of Hastings Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The damage done to this car would have taken someone a fair amount of time and it is likely that the alarm sounded as a result. Were you disturbed during the night by the alarm, or did you witness this incident happen?
