Pair accused of making hoax 999 calls

TWO men are accused of making a string of hoax calls to police and the fire service.

Steven Sheppard, 53, of Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, and a 16-year-old Bexhill teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are alleged to have made the calls during October and November.

The teenager also faces charges of arson.

He is accused of setting a fence and hedges alight in Glovers Lane, Bexhill.

Both he and Sheppard each face six allegations of making hoax calls.

They have been bailed by police and must appear before Hastings magistrates on Monday, January 10.
