Man hospitalised after being attacked with a weapon in St Leonards

Police are investigating an incident in which a local man was attacked by another man wielding a weapon.

It happened at the junction of Sedlescombe Road South and St Matthew’s Gardens, St Leonards, between 11.50pm and midnight on Sunday (May 14), and left the victim with severe cuts and bruises which required treatment at the Conquest Hospital.

Two suspects, a 46-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, both from St Leonards, were arrested in connection with the incident but later released under investigation.
