Man attacked in town centre

A MAN was attacked and robbed as he made his way home from celebrating the wedding of a friend.

The attack took place in the early hours last Sunday morning (June 10), after the victim had been in Yates’ Wine Lodge, in Robertson Street, leaving around closing time at 3am.

He walked up Cambridge Road where he was accosted by a group of three men in the bus stop opposite ESK and hit around the face before being threatened with a knife.

He handed over his mobile phone before looking for help to raise the alarm.

Two of the men involved have been described as white, in their 20s, between 5’ 8” and 5’ 10”, one as stockier than the other.

The third is described as black, also in his 20s, but shorter at about 5’ 8” and of stocky build. He wore a baseball cap.

All three wore dark clothing.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the men involved.
