A TEENAGE drug dealer arrested after he cruised through Hastings in a top of the range car in broad daylight has been jailed.
Michael Orishadare, 18, was searched when a silver Mercedes C220 was pulled over in Havelock Road at about 11.45am on November 19.
Officers discovered 77 wraps of class A drugs, 40 of heroin and 37 of cocaine with a estimated street value of about £1,200.
Both Orishadare and the driver of the car – 19-year-old Josh Smith – were arrested, while the car was seized.
Orishadare, of east London, pleaded guilty to charges of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and attempting to possess heroin with intent to supply when he appeared before Hastings Magistrates Court.
He was jailed for a year, and PC Duncan Cleverley of Hastings Police welcomed the sentence.
He said: “This should send out a strong message to those that are thinking of bringing drugs into Hastings and the message is don’t.
“We will continue to take robust action against drug dealing and drug dealers wherever possible.”
Smith, also a Londoner, appeared before magistrates in November charged with driving without insurance.
He was given six penalty points, fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £25 and a victim surcharge of £15 when he appeared before the court.
