Hastings town centre evacuated due to ‘suspicious package’ at McDonald’s

Part of Hastings town centre has been evacuated due to a ‘suspicious package’ at McDonald’s this morning (Friday, December 12).

The alarm was raised by staff at the restaurant at around 10.05am.

A cordon has been established around Wellington Square and the area within the cordon is being evacuated.

A man has been arrested close to the scene.

An explosive ordnance disposal unit has been requested to attend to examine the package.
