A 15-year-old girl was raped in Hastings on Tuesday (October 6).
The victim was plied with alcohol at the Hastings railway station plaza before being taken to a grassy area and raped.
It is believed she knew her attacker.
Detectives do not know the exact location – possibly Linton Gardens or Cornwallis Gardens – nor who the girl was with.
She had met up with friends at the plaza earlier that day, despite wet and windy weather conditions at the time.
An 18-year-old man from St Leonards was arrested on suspicion of rape and questioned, and was later released on bail until December 1.
Detective Sergeant Tony Webb said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about what occurred or who saw the girl leaving the plaza.
“Anyone who thinks they may be able to help is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 1568 of 06/10.
“Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.”
