Filipino restaurant worker detained in Hastings

A Filipino woman working in a restaurant in Hastings has been detained after police found her to be working illegally.

Acting on intelligence, immigration enforcement officers arrested the 47-year-old woman at Siam 2 Thai Restaurant on George Street at approximately 8.25pm on Friday, November 13.

The woman is currently detained pending her removal from the UK.

The business was served with a notice warning a financial penalty of up to £20,000 per illegal worker arrested could be imposed.
