COURT RESULTS: Round-up of cases from 1066 Country

The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates' Court from November 17 - November 21.

November 17:

Sharon Gould (aged 35), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Polo on Mount Road, Hastings, on August 4, with the controlled drug, Benzoylecgonine, in her blood stream. She was fined £40 and banned from driving for one year.

Dominic Harwood (aged 18), from Asten Fields, Battle, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW car at Lower lake, Battle, on September 18 while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of driving with cannabis in his blood stream and being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. In addition, he pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and to driving with no insurance. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for three years.

David Lancaster (aged 28), of Rye Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra on Malvern Way, Hastings, on September 11 with cocaine in his blood stream. He also admitted a separate charge of driving with Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream, on the same date. He was fined £50 and banned from driving for one year.

Jordan Monteith (aged 22), of Pinders Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to causing £150 damage to a car door window and wing. The offence took place at Deepdene Gardens, Hastings, on October 20. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 compensation.

Michael N’Ganga (aged 54), of West Hill Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offence took place at Hastings on October 15. He was fined £80.

Zachary Ben-Abdalla, of Greenfields Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of quantities of cocaine and cannabis at Hastings on November 2. He also admitted being in breach of a suspended sentence made by Plymouth Crown Court on June 10 for being in possession of an offensive weapon. Magistrates committed him to Plymouth Crown Court for sentencing.

Sharon Gould (aged 35), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing perfume worth £66 from Boots at Priory Meadow, Hastings, on October 31. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Daniel Mead, (aged 18), of St Paul’s Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a knife in a public place. The offence took place at Churchwood Drive, St Leonards, on October 18. The court made a community order with a requirement of a five month electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 6am.

Ian Garman (aged 51), of Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Queens Road, Hastings, on May 18. Magistrates adjourned sentencing until December 8 to allow for pre-sentence reports to be prepared and said they were keeping all sentencing options open.

November 21:

Kirsty Gilby, (aged 27), of Castle Gardens, Hastings, was found guilty of two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Hastings on February 13 and February 26. She was also found guilty of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to harassment in that on a number of dates between September 25, 2015, and April 4, 2016, she shouted at and abused her female victim, spat at her and threatened her with violence. The court made a community order, with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work. She was ordered to pay £200 in compensation to her victim and £500 in court costs. Magistrates also issued a restraining order.
