COURT RESULTS: Round-up of cases from 1066 Country

The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates' Court from September 20 -

September 20:

Dimitrij Cherkasovs (aged 33), of West Hill Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Laguna on White Rock Road, Hastings, on May 18 while more than three times over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 268 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80mg. He was sentenced to ten weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. The court also made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work. He was fined £500 and banned from driving for four years. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was putting himself and other road users at risk and that it was his third similar offence.

September 21:

Richard Bown (aged 54), of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis when required to do so. The offence took place at Hastings on August 29. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 22 months.

Bobbie Garner (aged 20), of Springfields, Wadhurst, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen car on Gillsmans Hill, St Leonards, on June 25 without insurance. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. He was fined a total of £350 and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

September 28:

Samantha Martin (aged 49), of Terrace Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Polo on East parade, Hastings, on September 1 while more than three times over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 114 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. She was banned from driving for 26 months and the court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Luis Osborne (aged 45), of Sea Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to assault. The offence took place at Bexhill on August 14. He was given a six month conditional discharge.

Matthew Tomas (aged 22), of De Cham Road, St Leonards pleaded guilty to stealing four tins of powdered protein powder from the Bexhill branch of Boots. The offences took place on June 8 and June 16. He also admitted being in breach of a 12 month conditional discharge, made by an earlier court for five offences of shoplifting. He was given an 18 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £240 in compensation.

Ralph Gould (aged 86), of Egremont Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen vehicle without due care and attention at High Street, in Hastings Old Town, on August 5. He was fined £120 and his driving record endorsed with three penalty points.

Shane Loft (aged 33), of Boyne Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra van on Collier Road, Hastings, on September 3, while nearly three times over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 101 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.

Fenton Logan (aged 25), of North Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of alcohol and meat products worth £90 from Tesco Express at Cooden Sea Road, Bexhill, on September 3. He was fined £100.

Ryan Stone (aged 25), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of alcohol and meat products worth £90 from Tesco Express at Cooden Sea Road, Bexhill, on September 3. He was fined £100.

Michelle latter (aged 34), of Cooper Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him. The offence took place at Hastings on July 19. She also pleaded guilty to two assaults on police officers on the same date. She admitted being in breach of a 12 month conditional discharge imposed by Crawley Magistrates Court for an offence of battery. She was fined £80 and the court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Kimane Dunn, aged 30, of Battle Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to stealing clothing worth £63, from Asda, in St Leonards, on August 19. She was fined £80.
