RESIDENTS of St Andrew’s Square did not let the showers dampen their spirits at this year’s summer fair.

The event organised by the St Andrew’s Square Residents’ Association (STAR), took place on Saturday (August 27).

There was fun to be had for all ages, with raffles, bric-a-brac stalls and face painting. There was even a chance to power a smoothie maker by riding a bike, and a highlight was the sunflower competition, with first prize this year going to Chloe Marshall.

Refreshments were provided by local Salvation Army members.

Mayor Kim Forward said: “Activ8 singers were there to lift everyone’s spirits with their beautiful singing & the sun shone on the sunflowers presented for judging in the annual competition.

“Well done to STAR for showing real community spirit.”
