STAFF at the Sedlescombe Road North branch of The Co-operative raised money for charity with an in-store summer beach party.
Workers in the St Leonards store staged a tropical party, complete with costumes, buckets and spades, and even an inflatable palm tree last Friday (August 26).
The event was in aid of Mencap, which is The Co-operative’s Charity of the Year for 2011.
Staff at the branch have raised £250 for the charity in the past month, through this dress-up day, and a trolley dash competition, and the fundraising efforts are set to continue. The money will go towards helping Mencap support 20,000 young people across the UK, with a learning disability.
