Stars of the Cinderella pantomime will be switching on Hastings’ Christmas lights this evening (Thursday, November 19).

Daisy Steere who plays Cinderella and Prince Charming Ben McMillan will be pressing the big red button to start the town’s festive celebrations at Priory Meadow.

The evening starts at 5pm in Queens Square with the Arrow FM Roadshow, which features a host of fun competitions and giveaways for the kids followed by a stunning firework display above Priory Meadow’s rooftops.

You can also do some early Christmas shopping as Priory Meadow’s shops and cafes are open until 8pm on a Thursday and if you leave the car park after 7pm, even the parking’s free on a Thursday.

The centre will also be open till 8pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the Christmas week

After the fireworks, you can enjoy a relaxing coffee, or why not go to Pizza Express and make it a real festive event.

For more information on all the festive celebrations around 1066 country, check out the Observer Christmas supplement in tomorrow’s paper (November 20).
