Three members of Tesco Hollington’s staff decided to do a ‘mad’ challenge to raise funds for charity.
Tesco community champions Lisa Moon, Mandy Ashingdon and service manager Rachel Harding took a dip in the sea at St Leonards last Saturday (January 18) to kick start their fundraising year. The charities benefiting from the chilly dip are Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
Mandy said though the air temperature was a mere three degrees centigrade, the sea temperature would have been slightly higher, adding: “We were only in the water for a few minutes and it was extremely cold. It was a mad, crazy challenge but still fun and we were supported by friends, family and co-workers and it was a good start to the year with around £1,000 raised for our chosen charities.”
