A GROUP of children, some of whom had never been in the countryside before, were treated to a trip to Hastings Country Park.
The 11 pupils from New Horizons School in Beauchamp Road, St Leonards, met and fed some of the Highland cattle in the park and had a guided tour with one of the park rangers.
The visit was part of a project called Access to Nature, run by Sussex Wildlife Trust in partnership with Hastings Borough Council, which aims to create opportunities for children to learn about nature.
Martin Felstead, Access to Nature project co-ordinator at Sussex Wildlife Trust, who organised the trip, said: “The day went really well. Some of the children had never seen cattle like that before and many had not even been to the country park, which is the jewel in the crown for Hastings.
“It was a great education for the youngsters.”
