A TEENAGER danced his way to success at a recent international competition in Germany.
Charlie Mockett, 15, of Acorn Close, St Leonards, was selected as part of the England Tap Dance team at the World Tap Dance Championships.
The William Parker Sports College student participated in the same contest in 2011, as part of a Junior small group which reached the finals and was eventually placed 7th in the world.
His mother Karin said: “Charlie had exceptional success at this year’s World Championships. He danced in three categories; as part of a Junior Small group, which ranked 4th, as part of the Adult Formation team, which this performance secured them a bronze medal. Charlie also danced a solo in the junior male section in which he is now the World Bronze Medallist. We are the proudest parents as without the support from the Lions Club of Hastings and the Hastings Round Table, Charlie, who attends the Laton Ash Dance Centre, would have not been able to travel to the World Championships.”
