HARDY fundraisers tackled Britain’s three highest mountains in 24 hours to help a cash-strapped local charity.
Eight employees from Hastings branches of contractors General Dynamics UK climbed Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis to complete the Three Peaks Challenge, earning £1,600 for St Michael’s Hospice, based in Upper Maze Hill.
Philip Carpenter lead the intrepid group up the peaks, which are the highest in Wales, England and Scotland respectively, despite severe weather conditions and the stringent time restriction.
He said: “It was a fantastic challenge which was tough, but we all enjoyed it and are delighted to be able to hand over so much sponsorship to this extremely worthwhile local charity.
“Thanks to everyone who generously sponsored us.”
