A MILE swim challenge held at Freedom Leisure’s Summerfields Leisure Centre kick-started fundraising for a disabled boy.

Five teams of five lined up to swim the one-mile relay (64 lengths) on Sunday, April 28 with all the proceeds going to Charity For Kids.
Charity for Kids’ goal is to raise £9,000 to buy and install a specialist hot tub for four-year-old Bailey Harmer to enable him to have hydrotherapy sessions to ease the pain he suffers with cerebral palsy.

Paul Harris, chairman of Charity for Kids, said: “I would like to thank Freedom Leisure for hosting the event and all the swimmers for their effort and good humour throughout the challenge which was hard-fought but fun.”
