A CHARITY is looking for five committed runners to take up places in next year’s London Marathon.
Martha Trust offers respite, residential and day care to more than 30 young people and adults with profound physical and multiple learning disabilities ensuring they achieve their potential and lead happy, active and fulfilling lives.
For those looking for a reason to enter the London Marathon, Martha House has been guaranteed places in next year’s race and is now looking for five committed runners to fly the flag on its behalf.
Director of marketing, Julie Gayler, is thrilled to have so many places.
She said: “Each year thousands of people miss out on the ballot to run the Virgin London Marathon.
“We have the chance to help five lucky people fulfil their ambition and make a real difference to the lives of the people we care for.”
Anyone interested in running on behalf of Martha Trust will need to complete a Virgin London Marathon application form and return it to the charity by December 31, 2012.
Applicants will find out in January 2013 whether they have been successful and at that point, successful applicants will be asked to pay a non-refundable administration fee of £100.
All runners will be asked to pledge to raise £1,500 which will go towards the work of Martha Trust.
