A PUB team cycled pier to pier to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.

Nine cyclists, two staff members and the rest customers from the Nags Head, in Gensing Road, St Leonards, rode from Eastbourne Pier to Hastings Pier earlier this month.

All completed the 34-mile route, and expect to raise over £1,000 from the bike ride.

Landlady Angie Featherstone said: “We have been collecting for this worthy cause all year and have also done a “Calendar Girls” style Nags Head calendar which is on sale at the pub.

“We have also had customers in the pillory having wet sponges thrown at them. We have so far collected £680 this year and have more events to come so expect this year’s total to be well over £2,000.”
