A BRAVE woman had her head shaved for charity.

Carolyn Hampson, 38, of Winchelsea Road, sheared her locks to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

She was moved to have five inches of curly hair chopped off after her aunt was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, and managed to raise £520 for the charity.

She said “The nurses were absolutely fantastic and my aunt was able to stay in her own home

“I was amazed at how much money I raised, mainly from my colleagues at Amethyst Group and family and friends.”

The cut took place at the Hair Shed on The Ridge.
