Charity carols concert rescued

THANKS to a recent plea in the Observer a previously cancelled carol concert went ahead.

St Michael’s Hospice had been forced to call off its original date because of snow and was left facing a concert with no choirs.

However, the charity was inundated with offers after the Observer printed a plea for help and the sing-a-long took place this week at Priory Meadow.

Julie Brett, hospice spokesman, said: “I am so grateful to the Observer for helping us. In just four hours we raised £540.”
