Some bus routes have been changed as Stagecoach ‘streamline’ services.

The company are looking to take advantage of the upcoming Bexhill-Hastings Link Road and have altered the Hastings Arrows timetable.

Routes have been changed to ensure most buses run the same journey in both directions and, due to increased traffic congestion, journey time has been increased.

Stagecoach South East’s managing director Philip Norwell said: “By utilising the new link road we have created new options for residents and workers wanting to travel between Bexhill and Hollington.

“This is particularly timely with development of Glovers House business centre in Bexhill, located on the new link road.”

All route 21 buses to and from Stonehouse Drive will be extended to serve Bexhill via the new link road but will run as far as Tesco until the road is opened from November 2.

Due to the extension of route 21, after 9am all route 23 buses will run the same route along Blackman Avenue instead of Stonehouse Drive.

There will be changes to routes 7, 27, 29 and 347 which are funded by East Sussex County Council.

Frequency has increased on route 27.

Some journeys will no longer call into Hastings Rail Station.

Route 29 will no longer run, however all journeys on route 347 will run via Milward Road instead.

The new Arrows timetables begin on November 1.

The new timetable leaflets are available on buses, outlets and on the Stagecoach website.

The company will also be holding a roadshow in Hastings town centre, outside Debenhams, from 10am on Wednesday (October 28).

A brand new bus will be parked up with Stagecoach staff on hand to answer questions and give out new timetables.

The company will also be promoting a prize-draw, offering one lucky customer a year’s free bus travel worth £910.
