A 1066 country charity has places available for a number of competitions for runners and cyclists next year.

There are spaces free for the Brighton Marathon, the Virgin Money London Marathon and the Pru-Ride London-Surrey in aid of The Sara Lee Trust.

The trust provides therapy and support to people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Hastings and Rother.

Fundraising manager Maria Gonet said: “The funds raised from these events allow us to provide essential care and support to people in Hastings and Rother who are living through cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Runners must commit to raising £500 for the Brighton Marathon on April 17, 2016.

For the London marathon on April 24, 2016, competitors must raise at least £1,750.

Cyclists for the bike ride on July 31, 2016, can only do it for the trust if they can commit to raising £500.
