A THEATRE director is offering an artist the opportunity to display their work in a forthcoming stage production.
Matt Turpin is directing the Stables Theatre production of Ben Elton’s Silly Cow which runs from May 10 to 18, and is inviting local artists, professionals, amateurs or students, to put forward a piece already created that they think might work as part of the set.
The artist chosen will have their work displayed to potentially 1,000 people, receive a short biography in the programme and two tickets to the opening night of the show.
The play is set in modern day London, and the apartment in the set belongs to a 30-40 year old tabloid journalist, who is loud, brash and confrontational, but with a secret sensitive side.
The artwork will need to be of a reasonable size (minimum A2 size, but ideally larger) and able to be appreciated from a distance.
The piece would need to be available from the week commencing May 6 until May 18.
Photographs of work should be sent, with a few details of the artist, contact details and size of the piece to firstname.lastname@example.org, by April 22.
