A local Pre-school had the perfect present to celebrate its 30th birthday when it received an Oftsed inspection report of ‘Good’ in all areas.
Park Road Under Fives, based at Upper Park Road, has been providing childcare in the local community for three decades.
It became a Community Interest Organisation and a registered charity in 2014.
Manager Nichola Spice said: “We continue to provide good quality childcare to families in Hastings and St Leonards.
“We are passionate about our role in providing a safe and secure environment for children to thrive and learn and this was evident in the feed back we received during our inspection, which included our commitment to parent partnership, leadership and management, staff training opportunities and safeguarding.
Ofsted looked at policies and procedures and saw evidence of the qualifications and suitability of staff.
The inspector spoke to children and staff and observed practice throughout the pre-school, as well as taking into account the views of parents on the day of the inspection.
Ofsted inspector Victoria Cheeseman said, in the report on the pre-school, that: “The manager fully understands the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
“Policies and procedures are effectively implemented and monitored. Therefore, practice is consistently good.
“There is a strong commitment to staff’s professional development and training. Staff are committed to developing and extending their knowledge to ensure that all children are supported.
“Therefore, the quality of teaching is consistently good and children make good progress.
“Staff support all children well with their development of speech and language skills. This enables children to confidently communicate and share their ideas and thoughts with staff.
“Staff have a good knowledge of safeguarding and know the procedures to follow to keep children safe.
“Partnerships with parents are effective in sharing a range of information to support children’s learning and development and care needs.”
Staff and children at Park Road Under Fives celebrated the achievement recently with a party where they enjoyed a 30th birthday cake.
