PUPILS at Castledown School went hunting for dinosaurs last Thursday (February 14) - using iPads and smartphones.
Parents of Year 1 youngsters came in to work with their children on the hunt, which was part of a wider project aimed at involving parents more with their child’s reading.
Always looking for new and innovative ways to excite and involve the pupils more in their education, the school project lead Karen Dance put together a dinosaur hunt with QR codes (little black and white squares found on food wrappings and TV adverts).
Children and parents made their way around the school scanning with iPads and smartphones reading clues together in order to work out their next steps. The school hopes to do similar projects with other year groups on different topics.
