Cash raised for agencies

Staff at the Advice and Community Hub have this week announced the final sponsorship total from this year’s Hastings sponsored legal walk.

The total amount raised for the charities was £2,836.50.

The annual event was organised by the London Legal Support Trust to raise money for legal services in Hastings and the surrounding area.

More than 70 lawyers, law school students, law firms, members of the judiciary and local agencies walked the 10k route in September to raise funds for Citizens Advice 1066, Hastings Advice and Representation Centre and BHT Sussex Hastings Advice. Jo Wilson, manager, BHT Sussex Hastings Advice, said: “We are so pleased with the final figure and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made a donation. The final total will really help us to meet the growing demand of people seeking advice at the Advice and Community Hub.”

The hub is home to the Hastings Advice and Representation Centre, Citizens Advice 1066 and BHT Sussex’s Hastings Advice Service for people seeking advice on housing, debt, welfare benefits and general advice.
