A ST Leonards hotel has announced it is building a new £1.2 million function suite.
The Bannatyne Spa Hotel in Battle Road hopes the facility will be ready for the autumn and bosses believe it will boost bookings - particularly for weddings.
The new 814 sq ft suite will centre around a 300-seater ballroom, and it will also have its own kitchen, bar and parking facilities. There will also be a stone terrace built alongside the new suite for guests to enjoy the hotel’s gardens.
It is the latest in a series of investments made by the hotel group - which is headed by Duncan Bannatyne of Dragon’s Den fame - and managing director Nigel Armstrong welcomed the news. “We are always looking at opportunities to regenerate our profits into areas of the business that offer members and guests the highest quality of facilities and service,” he said. “Creating this new suite is a logical next step because The Bannatyne Spa Hotel has become very highly-regarded for its functions and events.”
