Mothers’ meeting with a difference

MOTHERS who are also businesswomen can now take advantage of a new monthly networking event.

The local Mums Business Club meets monthly in St Leonards and Bexhill, and now a new venue has been added in Hastings, at Eat@12 Claremont.

Antonia Chitty, author and mother of three, from Bexhill, is the woman responsible for starting the local branch of the club.

She said: “In the last six months we have reached about 40 women.

“It is a really nice group because everyone will put their thinking caps on and help in any way they can.”

These monthly meetings are different to traditional networking events in that the times fit in with school and pre-school drop offs, and are family friendly, rather than being formal breakfast and evening events.

Antonia said: “Mums Business Club allows mums to network, swap referrals, give each other support, and have a coffee and a chat in an atmosphere where children are welcome.”

The next St Leonards meeting is on Tuesday, October 4, from 10-11.30am, at The Roomz, 33 Western Avenue, St Leonards.

The first Hastings meeting takes place on Tuesday, November 8, from 10-11.30am, at Eat@12 Claremont, next to Hastings library.

Admission to the meetings is £5, including tea or coffee.

Antonia also helps with organising the annual BusinessMums Summit, an all day event, this year taking place on October 10 at the Thistle Hotel, Brighton.
