A FORUM to be held next Friday (November 11) aims to make disabled people aware of the employment opportunities open to them.
The event, hosted by Hastings MP Amber Rudd, and chair of Hastings and Rother Disability forum Rosemary Iddenden, will take place at Hastings town hall from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Amber Rudd said: “I am very keen to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to find work, and that there should be clarity around the benefits available to disabled people when in and out of work.
“I am delighted to be working with the Hastings and Rother Disability Forum to achieve this.”
The forum will provide information on opportunities for employment, training, and setting up their own business locally.
This will be set out within the context of the benefits that many disabled people will need to continue to receive.
There will be presentations by representatives from East Sussex County Council, and local business groups.
Rosemary Iddenden said: “It is very important that disabled people have all the information that they need about welfare and about benefits. We hope that this forum will help to deliver that.”
Anyone wishing to join the session should contact Rosemary Iddenden on 01424 420516 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
