Burglars steal money from safe

BURGLARS broke into a garage at a house in St Leonards overnight and stole money from a safe plus property.

The break-in happened at a property in Charles Road West, St Leonards, between 9pm on Tuesday, 3 April and 4am on Wednesday, 4 April.

As well as the money a black Mayhem mountain bike, several electrical tools and some bulk buy dog food was stolen.

Sergeant Paul Elrick, Hastings neighbourhood response team, said: “These are bulky items that were stolen from this property and it is likely two people were involved with a vehicle.

“Did you hear an engine running or see or hear anything else out of the ordinary that night? Perhaps someone has offered to sell you a black Mayhem bike or bulk dog food?

“We are keen to talk to anyone who has any information about this crime. Call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 105 of 3/4. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
