A man's dead body was discovered early this morning on Hastings beach.
Police are trying to identify the man whose body was washed up on the shore next to Hastings pier.
It is thought the man has been in the water for up to 24 hours.
DI Andy Harbour said: "The man, who we believe is his in 20s, was found washed up on the beach. We are treating his death as unexplained.
"We are doing all we can to identify him. He has short dark brown hair, is about 5ft 7 and was wearing a shiny black jacket and stonewashed jeans. In his pocket were keys to a Renault car.
"I would appeal to anyone who recognises him or has any information to contact police on 101, quoting 0385 of 3 June."
