BLUE skies greeted the annual marbles competition at Winkle Island this Easter.
Held each year on Good Friday, the contest this time featured 12 teams competing for the trophy, with plenty of spectators looking on.
The marbles championships are organised by Hastings Borough Bonfire Society.
The game of marbles has a century-old history in Sussex, and this particular competition is played according to Battle rules.
The winning team was the Dosy Does, affiliated to The Stag Inn, in All Saints Street.
Star Lobb, manager of the pub and team member, said: “It was my first time playing marbles.
“It was a lovely day. I will definitely be entering again next year.”
