HASTINGS Urban Bikes (HUB) has set up a visit from cyclists in Hastings’ twin town of Dordrecht in Holland.
HUB’s social secretary Bernie Goldman contacted the Dutch cycling group called DTC De Mol with the idea of an exchange visit to build links between fellow cyclists in the two countries.
The offer was accepted and a group of 15 Dutch pedallers will be arriving in Hastings on Friday, May 4, and staying until Monday, May 7, accomodated by members of HUB.
The visitors will be treated to a range of rides and social events, including a beach barbecue, and local cyclists will get the chance to come along and meet their Dutch counterparts.
HUB members plan to visit Dordrecht either in the autumn or spring next year, and hope to bringing back ideas to continue pushing for improved provision for cyclists in Hastings and St Leonards.
