A STUNNING former Miss Hastings is in the running for glamour glory at the Miss European contest this autumn - and she needs your help.
Beauty queen Tamara Gates, 22, has till Wednesday (August 31), to find a sponsor willing to put up £350 for her quest to become Europe’s top beauty, or she will lose her place in the England bevy.
The Observer reported in May how Miss Gates, the 2010 Carnival Queen and Miss Hastings. beat off hundreds of hopefuls to become one of the ten women chosen to represent England in the Miss European 2011 contest.
Now, she is asking a generous reader to step up with the cash to fund her stay in Folkestone for the week of the contest.
“The last Hastings girl who tried for it was Amy Fuller, and she went on to win it, so it would be great to bring home the title for hastings again,” said Miss Gates, of Sedlecombe Road North, St Leonards.
Miss Gates, who just graduated with a degree in business management, will be grilled by judges on her manners, poise, elegance and speech at the competition in October.
She and other hopefuls from across Europe must also pose in swim wear, party wear and evening wear before the crown is won.
If you or your business want to help Tamara represent Hastings and England at the contest this October, get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org before Wednesday.
