A NOISY neighbour has been fined more than £1,000 for playing his music too loud.

Graham Smith, of Southwater Road, failed to take notice of an official warning given to him last year by Hastings Borough Council and his landlord (BHT Hastings Community Housing).

In fact, he breached the noise abatement notice three times, resulting in the hefty fine, costs of almost £800 and his stereo being seized.

And this week Smith, 24, was served with an anti-social behaviour injunction effectively banning him from playing any music loud enough to be heard by neighbours or owning a stereo.

If he fails to stick to the stringent conditions he will be arrested and has been warned he could face jail.

Smith had caused similar problems at his previous home in Wellington Square. Back in 2009 he was fined £600, ordered to stump up £288 in costs and had his stereo seized.
