CAKE fanatics Shelley Feldman and Kevin Young hope to cash in on their hobbies and make some real dough after launching their own recipe book.

The business partners, who met at university, have just published their 1066 Cake Stand Compendium of Cakes.

The easy-to-use, 79-page guide features recipes for wheat, gluten-free and sucrose-free cakes.

Shelley, 36, met Kevin, 52, while studying philosophy at Essex University in Colchester.

Kevin was studying for a Masters in engineering but had already started making cakes for close friends.

More than a decade on, the pair got together to launch their Cake Stand at the weekly Thursday market in Hastings in October 2010.

After being inundated with recipe ideas, they decided to write them down and create a guide book.

In May the enterprising local pair plan to take up a stand at the Allergy and Free From fair at London’s Olympia.

Their book costs £8.99 and is available from Trinity Wholefoods, Sammons and the One Cafe in St Leonards.
