THE Hastings and St Leonards Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) is on the hunt for new headquarters.

The decision was made to sell the building in Wellington Square, owned by the association, as the inaccessibility of the building was proving a problem for members.

The club has had its headquarters in Wellington Square for the last 40 years.

A farewell party on October 13 is open to all members.

Tony Selmes, chairman of Hastings and St Leonards RAFA, said: “We are looking to have a place that is wheelchair accessible, and that is central to Hastings and St Leonards.”

He said that the association was also looking to recruit new members, as the number who regularly attended the club was dwindling.

When new premises are found, membership is to be opened up to ex-service people from all services.

Anyone with suggestions for new premises can contact Tony Selmes on 01424 532697.
