AUTISM Sussex hosted an afternoon of performances and activities in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.
The event took place on April 2 at Roebuck 3, in Roebuck Street, the charity’s resource and advice centre for people with high functioning autism and Asperger’s syndrome.
A group from the Asperger’s support group had made films about their day-to-day experiences of living with autism, which were shown, and they also put on a play.
There were also performances from bands, watched by friends and family.
Marketing manager Xanthe Newman said: “For me that bit of the day was really lovely, as the idea of World Autism Awareness Day is that it’s a celebration.”
