THE town’s MP launched a new type of pharmacy on Friday.
Amber Rudd visited Laycocks in Old London Road, Ore, as it becomes the first Healthy Living Pharmacy in Hastings.
Staff there have undergone additional training and are accredited to provide additional advice to customers and patients on a range of health issues such as smoking, sexual health, healthy eating and alcohol.
Laycocks, which is also celebrating 25 years of trading, showed Ms Rudd the leaflets and advice that are available. The MP said: “Mr and Mrs Radia are well-known locally as caring and helpful pharmacists. I welcome the Healthy Living initiative, which they have embraced, and know it will add to opportunities for better health for residents in Ore.”
Over the next few weeks it is hoped that three more pharmacies will be accredited in Hastings.
