An aspiring actor from Hastings, is appealing for help with sponsorship as he follows his dream having been offered a place at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Tom Roche, 24, was involved with school productions throughout his teenage years and and an active member of The Stables Theatre, where he discovered that he had a passion for performing. “Since then I’ve been nurturing my talents to help me realise my dreams of working professionally in the entertainment industry,” he said. “In 2008 I was accepted into the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. In 2010 I was signed by a London agent who has put me up for castings in film and TV – keep a look out on YouTube and in cinemas for the latest TFL road safety advert.
“In 2010 I took a small step back from acting to explore Street Dance, which evolved into the founding of a Hastings based street dance school (TTA). Throughout its lifetime we have taught street dance to over 200 children both in and out of our studios.”
Tom has now been given a once in a lifetime opportunity by being offered a place at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, but needs to raise £35,000 to cover the fees and is appealing for sponsorship. “For me, this could be one of the first steps towards realising my biggest dream,” he said. “If I don’t raise the money, I can’t go.” www.facebook.com/GetHim2NewYork
