THE annual Act of Remembrance this year will be held on Sunday, November 11 from 11am at the War Memorial in Alexandra Park.

The 1066 Pipes and Drums, Queens Colour and escorts, Pre Service and youth organisations are meeting outside the Town Hall at 10.15am and will form up from 10.25am to join the uniformed parade and march along Queens Road to the park.

Ex-service associations are meeting at Morrison’s, where the loading bay area is to be used for form up, and will be in place by 10.45am, entering Queens Road just prior to the band so that the parade enters Alexandra Park as one.

Following the service, the laying of wreaths and the march past, the Civic Parade will re-form and make its way back to the Town Hall.

Unfortunately due to the paperwork and equipment in place for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections this year, organisers are unable to offer refreshments at the Town Hall after the event, as they have been able to in previous years.

Similar Remembrance services will be taking place across the country at the same time from 11am.
