STUDENTS at The Hastings Academy planted a commemorative tree to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The students, from Years 7 to 10, worked together with Tony Howard, head gardener at Fairlight Hall, representing Ore in Bloom, and Pete Avery, from the academy.

They planted a bed with red, white and blue bedding plants with a beautiful Whitebeam tree in the centre.

Jemma Marcroft, from Year 10, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved and, in particular, Ore in Bloom.”
